Desirable can only be defined in terms of what you find desirable in others. Having an opinion on ones own desirability can only be considered a variant of narcissism (positive or negative) since it cannot be applied to anyone elses opinion of you and it's not possible to define a standard for desirability except in terms of oversimplistic generalizations of what other folks think based on images in the media.
Accepting the medias image of desirability would be the equivalent of accepting the art establishments definition of art and assuming everyone has Tracey Emin prints on their wall (Which I guess beats having a Bobby Sands original on your wall but only just).
Anyway nothing like people complaining about being fat and ugly to remind other people they are single which is not a matter of opinion.
