The great thing about Google for me is that there's no fancy imagery - it's just half a dozen things on a page, and it takes next to no time to load.
I'm not sure if there's an option for "Please put it back like it was."
Edit to add: OK, looks like I'm not the only one, and looks like I'm stuck with it until Friday. Everyone's being forced to have an image until Friday and then you can click on "Remove Background image" if you want to.
